Every day is an adventure:)

I started this post LONG time ago!! Everyday that goes by I keep adding pictures and more pictures!! Anyway, the babies are doing great:) Arianna has another tooth! yay!! I just noticed it today (01/18/09). I don't think this one hurt as much as the first one did, gracias Señor!! We are back to sleeping through the night (knock on wood). Here and there we get some crying baby at night, but it's a lot better.

The babies' new entertainment is to get the toys out of the toy box:) However, they cry when the box is empty and mommy has to refill it! stinkers! here is a picture of them getting the toy box empty:)

Today daddy was having some fun trying to hold all the babies at once! hehehehe here it's a picture:)
So each baby has 2 teeth! So I tried to take a picture of those pearly whites! This is Alea showing off her new teeth!! Can you see them? there is one very noticeable but the other one is still very small.

Here is Arianna trying to show off hers, but hers are so small that you won't be able to see them (I'll try again in a few weeks). I couldn't leave her without a teeth showing picture hehehehehe (believe it or not she has 2 pearly whites coming in).

and now Mr. Armando his teeth are a lot bigger than the girl's and you can probably see them a lot easier:)

Now Arianna likes to hold on to the swing's bar when the swing is in motion!! that stinker! then the swing stops swinging and mama has to come to the rescue! (she just let go as I was taking the picture)
El Señor Armando has figured out how to roll around to get places and to get in trouble he he he he. Here he is under one of the swings after rolling across the room. Do we need to start baby proofing the house?!! yikes!
In this picture you can see the blanket where Armando came rolling from. He started doing that this weekend!!!
Another picture of Armando getting in trouble. I have mentioned in previous posts that he loves to steal pacis! In this picture, he has ripped off Arianna's paci and put it in his mouth! hahaha
This is just a picture I like:) All three looking cute. From left to right Armando, Alea and Arianna
Guess what?! the babies are feeding themselves!!! hallelujah!!! things are a lot easier now:) Here is miss Alea and miss Arianna. Before they were able to hold the bottle but with a lot of help. But now they are pros:) they do get silly with the last ounce or two so I usually help them finish them off. I guess it all depends on how hungry they are at the time.
Here is miss Alea sitting on her rocking chair looking out of the window.

Alea peeking at mommy;)

This is what happens when I don't comb Armando's hair after a bath:) cute!
Another view at Armando's crazy hair.

Say cheeeeeeeeeeseeeee! ha ha ha ha I love this picture:) Arianna is loving the rocking chair (Thanks Katrina)
This picture is just for fun:) I like Armando's serious expression! can you smile Armando? at least just a littler!

NICU Follow up

We had our first NICU follow up last Friday and it went REALLY good:) in fact, they won't need to see us for another 9 months! yay!! I won't bore you with their weight since we had that last Monday. All 3 babies are right on track with their fine and gross motor skills for their adjusted age which is 6 months. They did a standardized test to check the babies motor skills and the results ranged from 6 months to 7 1/2 months. So we were very happy with that:) We saw Dr. K (one of the neonatolagist) and he said "your babies look great and they are gorgeous"! and I TOTALLY agree:)

On the solid feeding front, things have improved and we have found out the babies' likes and dislikes:) For instance, Apple sauce not a big hit, but bananas! oh man! they could eat bananas all day long! their favorite vegetable is butternut squash. Arianna not too crazy about rice cereal with milk, so I try to mix it with fruit and still not a big fan of it, grrrr

Speaking of Miss little Arianna she rolled back to tummy!! finally!! yay! so now everybody can roll both ways:) She has been sucking her toes now, "talking" like crazy at home, but still very shy in front of "strangers". They all can put in their paci (or their sibling's paci) in their mouth, they have been doing that for a few weeks already. They all love to sit up and play. Armando loves to do fish kisses:)

On the teeth front, we have a total of 5 teeth!! can you believe it?!! here is the break down: Armando 2, Alea 2 and Arianna 1:) nights are getting easier as teeth break through the gums! I hope Arianna's middle bottom tooth comes in quickly before it's time for the top 2 teeth to come in! hopefully, we'll get a little break from the Oragel and frozen wash cloths.

Well, I guess I can't get away with making another post with no pictures so here are some for your enjoyment:)
Armando happy after finishing his butternut squash:)

Arianna after daddy fed her. She has butternut squash up to her eye balls! ha ha ha ha it happens to me too, but I don't take pictures when I get them that messy;)

Alea loving the butternut squash, que rico!!

The babies, opening Christmas presents and having a good time with the wrapping paper:)

All three with different face expression! I love this picture! from left to right Arianna, Alea and Armando
The babies are always very happy to be home after a doctors appointment:) you can see that in the picture above and the video below:)

Wonderful Appointment!

The babies had their routine appointment with our GI pediatrician today and they are doing great!!! everybody was surprised of how big they have gotten from a couple of months ago. Our babies used to be on the 10th percentile adjusted age! so they were very small!!! today Arianna and Alea are on the 50% for both length and weight and Armando is on the 50% for length and 25% for weight. So here are the weights and lengths:)
Arianna 15lbs & 0.6oz 25 inches long
Alea 15lbs & 6oz 25 & 1/4 inches long
Armando 16lbs & 5oz 26 & 1/4 inches long

Last night was back to our normal nights:) ALL babies slept through the night:) so we are happy for that and hope that tonight will be the same story:) Alea's first tooth is finally through! yay!!!! Arianna has a little lump on her gums (the bottom part) so I think she is getting close too.

Sorry another post with no pictures! I know! I need to take pictures and post sometime!!

Anyways, hope everybody is doing great.

How long will it last?

Well we are back on the sleep less nights roll coaster!!!! :( It looks like BOTH girls are teething! Alea for sure because I can already see a tooth just cutting through her gum!! so the last couple of nights, both girls have been up and I've been putting oral gel left and right! then they go back to sleep and sometimes they just want to be up and play. Last night I put both girls in one crib and that helped them sleep a little longer:) it was cute to see how happy they were in the same crib:) I don't know if Arianna is having sympathy pain or if she is actually teething, her gums do look a little swollen on the bottom were those first 2 teeth are supposed to coming so I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt. I'm just wondering how long will the pain last? after the tooth or teeth are through the gums? I just hope they QUICKLY go back to our old wonderful routine of sleeping with NO interruptions from 7:30pm to 7:00am! that was wonderful and I already miss it! even thought it has only been 2 days, yikes!! do any of you have any good advice to help them sleep better while teething? Well this post will be with no pictures because I need to go take a little nap since everybody else is napping! sorry!!

Rolling poop!

Well our triplets have reached a milestone that not every parent would be as excited as I am. GROSS ALERT!!!! stop reading if you're not interested in poopy stories.... They are pooping in chunks!!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! you probably wonder, why am I SO excited about a milestone like this one? which probably goes uncelebrated by most parents?! well, we use cloth diapers so now their poop just rolls right out of the diaper and I don't have to mess too much with it!!! no more poopy sprinkles on my toilet sit, bathroom walls and floor!! yay!!! not always we had this issue, but sometimes things can get out of control with the sprayer. You see daddy installed a sprayer right by the toilet to spray the poop out of the diaper and sometimes there would be poopy water sprinkles in places that I wouldn't want. Hey, don't get too disgusted because I did clean up all the poopy sprinkles as soon as they happened that type of thing always drives me crazy. Anyways, these chunks of poop are great except when you lose them while changing the baby. Tonight I was changing Alea and she had a poopy diaper and all of the sudden the poop rolled out some where and I couldn't find it! so I told Matt "Alea pooped and I don't know where the poop went!" and he was like "what do you mean?" I said "she pooped a little ball that rolled out of the diaper and I can't find it!!" but don't worry Matt did find the little ball and put it down the toilet, WHEW!! bless his heart:)

On a less disgusting note, Alea has been rolling back to tummy since Tuesday:) and now she wants to sleep on her tummy! I keep flipping her back and 5 minutes later she is on her tummy so last night I finally gave up on that and let her sleep on her tummy, I hope it's safe.
Armando has been stealing bobos (pacifiers) left and right! No paci is safe when el Señor Armando is around!! he has been pulling pacis right out of the girls' mouth!!!! even if he has one in his mouth!! We usually clip the pacis on their bibs and that hasn't stopped him from getting his way...

Arianna has gotten very loud!!! specially when Armando takes away her paci. She has been very quiet and shy, but now she is making sure her paci stays with her. She continues to steal all the toys from her siblings. Before they didn't care when a toy or bobo would be taken away from them, but now they cry if their toy gets stolen or if they can't steal a toy! so there have been a few melt downs with toy and bobo stealing! I just can believe this type of situation has started so early!!

Solids are going well considering that this is our second week at it. Armando has it down really good. Alea eats like a little kitty liking the spoon instead of opening her mouth and eating it. Arianna is doing very good too, but when she decides she is done, that's it!! even if mommy doesn't think she is done, we have to be done.

Oh, and best of all, we had started a new routine with the babies! now they are going to bed at 7:30pm instead of the 9:00 to 10:00pm routine that we had in the past. We noticed that they were tired and cranky by 7:00 so daddy and mommy have been watching movies, relaxing for a change, spending time together, and just enjoying each other's company:) this is WONDERFUL!

Daddy has been on vacation for a week and it has been a blast:) we do the solid feedings while he is at work so he doesn't get to feed them solids too often other than the weekends. So it was so funny to see him day after day telling the babies "keep your hands out of there!" or "can you let me handle the spoon and you just eat?" or "OHHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOO she got the bowl, what a mess"! one day after he was done with Arianna, she had squash up her nose, eyes, hair, ears!! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

We had a wonderful Christmas with Matt's family. Since it is RSV season we left the babies home:( We only had one Christmas gathering since ALL my family is in my home country:( we started our family tradition for Christmas and we decided (I think) that we will open presents with our babies Christmas morning. Santa brought the babies cool toys:) noisy ones, but they love them so I don't really mind. Mom and dad got cool gifts too:) we gave each other the monster 12 cup food processor from Kitchenaid and a very nifty camcorder:)

Here are some random pictures and video:)
Proud grandma with our first batch of frozen baby food:)

We also made little cups to freeze:)
